Family Rhythm

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026. Family Rhythm Journal is local-first. Your family’s notes stay on your iPhone unless you choose optional backup.

Who we are

Family Rhythm Journal (“Family Rhythm,” “we,” “us”) is an iPhone app that helps families build private connection rhythms. Contact us through the CodexCaptain support form.

What we store on your device

By default, the following stay on your iPhone:

We do not require an account. We do not operate a Family Rhythm photo server.

Photos

If you choose photos from your library, they are stored in the app’s local sandbox for avatars and memories. You can remove them by deleting the related memory or resetting local data in the app.

Optional iCloud Family Backup

With Family Plus, you may upload a private Family Backup to your iCloud private database (CloudKit). That backup can include journal content and selected photos you include. Apple provides the iCloud infrastructure under Apple’s privacy terms. Family Rhythm does not read your backup for advertising.

Purchases

Subscriptions and pack purchases are processed by Apple. We receive entitlement signals through StoreKit so the app can unlock content. Apple’s privacy policy applies to payment processing.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Family Rhythm may schedule local reminders (for example, trial reminders). These are local notifications — not remote push from our servers.

Analytics and tracking

Family Rhythm does not use third-party advertising trackers. We do not sell personal information. The App Privacy nutrition labels in App Store Connect describe the categories that apply to your build.

Support requests

If you contact us through the CodexCaptain support form, you provide the contact and issue details needed to reply and manage your request. CodexCaptain's support providers process that submission on our behalf. We use it only to provide support. Please do not include private journal entries, children's full names, or sensitive family information.

Children

The app is designed for parents and caregivers. Children’s journal answers are stored locally under parental control. Do not ask children to create accounts — none are required.

Data deletion

You can reset local data from the app’s More tab tools. Uninstalling the app removes on-device data. You can delete one or all iCloud Family Backups from the backup controls in the app.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
